Welcome to Soul Talk: Unfiltered
Here's Why I'm Starting This Blog
I don't want to give off the impression that I have it all figured out, who does? I want to share my thoughts in a space that feels somewhat controlled and safe. I understand people have their own opinions and may even dismiss what I have to say, and that's fine, this blog just isn't for them. I want to talk about my experiences as a Christian, my beliefs, why I think life is the way it is, et cetera. This blog won't be everyone's cup of tea, which is fine; and a lot of people don't even like tea.
I have been through some really trying things in my twenty-three and-a-half years as a Christian. But guess what? I got through them all with God's help! I want to share some of my stories with y'all and give advice that comes from a biblical worldview. I don't intend to preach at anyone or make anyone feel like they have to share my thoughts, I just want to offer a space where we can discuss godly topics in a world where it is increasingly becoming taboo to do so.
I realize that Christianity is a "majority" group, but how many of those who claim Christ as their LORD really mean and live it? Exactly. We have so many people in our Faith group that are okay with being stagnant and complacent. The most constant thing in our world is change, and I intend to offer some guidance in how to change your perspective when going through the hard things life throws our way. I've battled with my body, my mind, and temptations. I have laughed without fear of the future, I have failed time-and-again and had to start over.
I will write about faith, fitness, dating, doubts, what it looks like to be tough on yourself and how to extend grace when you are. Sometimes my topics will be serious, sometimes they will be funny, but I will always be honest.
So if you believe in God but sometimes might forget how to approach Him, if you have questions, if you are trying to be better even though you fall short--Welcome. You are not alone. Let's grow together.
